The cheeseburger at the NYC restaurant costs a shocking $150

This nosh requires more “bread” than most.

As if the Big Apple didn’t have enough delicious pastries of late, creative Japanese cocktail bar Sip & Guzzle is stepping into this golden gastronomic obscurity by selling a $150 beef sandwich served on a golden plate.

Dubbed the Cheesy Royale, the recently cooked sammie was described by Chew York City caterer Ella Kahan as “the most amazing cheeseburger you’ll ever eat.”

Sip & Guzzle specializes in quirky food and drink hybrids, but its culinary crown jewel is undoubtedly the aforementioned nosh, which was created by chef Mike Bagale, who once ran the three-star restaurant Alinea Michelin in Chicago.

The premium hero features A5 Miyazaki wagyu sirloin – the world’s highest grade beef, known for its marbled snowflake veins in every cut.

Then it’s topped with aged white cheddar, evoking a very falutin’ Philly cheese.

Bagale finishes the decadent grind by seasoning it with chopped onions, a special wasabi-based barbecue sauce, smoked soy sauce, brown sugar, tomato vinegar and rice and shio koji (a Japanese seasoning with a special mushroom, rice, water and salt).

Finally, the Royale is bookended by shokupan milk bread, flown in fresh from Ginza Nishikawa’s bakery in LA and served in a golden bento box.

Voilà — diners are ready to eat literally “the rich”.

By the way, you can wash it down with a white truffle milkshake or black truffle cherry soda — for $50.

Royale may seem like it leans more towards style than substance, but guests have been quick to praise this gastronomic golden calf.

Influencer Kahan described the sumptuous dish as “sweet, dreamy, meaty wagyu goodness.”

Meanwhile, fellow foodie Kaitlyn Lavery, who reckoned the deluxe sandwich cost about $30 a bite, said: “Was it the best steak sandwich I’ve ever had? Maybe. Would I ever buy it again? Certainly not.”

Not a fan of beef? Don’t be afraid.

In addition to the Royale, Sip & Guzzle offers a variety of other rich foods, including airy fries made from puffed chicken skin, garnished with tea-smoked Golden Osetra caviar. Total price: $165.

Interestingly, the restaurant’s boffo burger is not the most expensive sandwich in New York City.

That honor goes to the Quintessential Grilled Cheese in Serendipity 3, which, at around $215, also happens to be the most expensive hero on the planet, according to Guinness World Records.
