The 4-year-old ‘rebel’ shocks her mother by piercing her own ears

Every parent knows – turn your back for a second and it’s anyone’s guess what kind of trouble the kids will be in.

Mother-of-three Brianna Attias got a sharp reminder of the rule this week when her young daughter shockingly managed to get her ears pierced after being left unattended for just minutes.

“I never would have expected something like this,” the Toronto-based content creator, 28, told The Post of the precocious child’s surprising behavior.

Attias was putting on makeup in the bathroom when Everly, 4, walked in and proudly announced that she had pierced her ears using an old earring from her mother’s drawer.

While Attias initially thought it was a joke, upon closer inspection, she realized that her daughter had indeed pierced her ear with a stud – all the way to the lobe.

When asked if it hurt, Everly said, “No.”

“She’s our rebel,” Attias said of Everly, whose mischievous personality differs greatly from her two other siblings, Caiden, 6, and Isla, 2.

“She acts much older than she is.”

Both Attias and her husband, Cameron, were “shocked and ‘surprised'” by Everly’s brave behavior. But instead of getting angry or upset, they found themselves laughing.

After shaking off their disbelief and assessing the youngster to make sure she was okay, they even offered to take their little one to a professional piercer to have her other ear pierced, but the 4-year-old insisted she could do it herself — and this she did, without even flinching.

“It might sound crazy, but I was proud of her,” Attias said, joking that she, too, “was a kid once” and that they “saved money” with Everly’s DIY method.

“Every day she wakes up and says, ‘Mommy, I like my earrings.’

After making a trip to a professional to pick out a pair of 10-carat gold earrings, the pair sat their daughter down to sternly inform her of the dangers of self-piercing and warned her not to do it again, worried that her generation her rebellion was not going to end there.

In fact, just before starting Pre-K, Everly got a pair of safety scissors in her hair, which “affected me more than my ears,” Attias admitted.

The stay-at-home parent also bought fake piercings that allowed Everly to try on nose rings and other non-permanent jewelry, giving her a taste temporarily so she wasn’t tempted to get another piercing.

The whole ordeal was posted on TikTok, where the video then went viral and reached millions of viewers, including Julia Fox, who assured the worried mother that she had done the same thing as a child.

“I got my ears pierced in elementary school so don’t worry she’s on track,” Fox commented on the family’s social media.

This made the content creator feel better about a barrage of negative comments, berating parents for taking their eyes off their little girl long enough for her to drill a hole in her lobe.

“People commenting on this definitely don’t have kids because they can do things in just five seconds,” she said. “It doesn’t matter if you’re hanging over them or in the corner, if they want to do something, they’re going to do it.”
